Car Runner, or Car Run Racing 🚗 Super Car Race as it is called on the store, is an Android runner game similar to Temple Run that I worked on during my time at AceViral.

I took over Car Runner from a previous programmer who created it based upon existing runner games also made by AceViral. My focus while working on the game was on updating Unity from an old version to a modern variant in order to meet new Google Play Store policies.

This necessitated a complete overall of all the plugins used in the project notably the plugins used for the UI and for the monetisation as they were designed for the previous much older version of Unity. Additionally, due to the way the game was built on top of multiple other games, Car Runner suffered from a great deal of technical debt from years of development.

Due to this, much of my development time was spent reorganising and replacing existing code in order to meet the project requirements with less focus on implementing the new features I also added to the game.
